At The Riverie by Katathani, caring for our riverside environment goes hand in hand with supporting the people and communities of Chiang Rai.
Through responsible hotel operations and our work with We Love the Hometown Foundation, we continue to protect natural resources, reduce our environmental impact and contribute to the wellbeing of local communities.
The Riverie by Katathani, Chiang Rai
Our environmental efforts extend to the natural surroundings of the hotel. Initiatives include planting trees, supporting the restoration and protection of the Kok River banks, releasing fish into the river and taking part in activities that help care for the local ecosystem.
The hotel uses energy-efficient inverter air-conditioning systems, temperature-management practices and LED lighting to help reduce energy consumption. Solar thermal panels also provide energy for water heating within the hotel.
Following the principles of reduce, reuse, refill, repair, return and recycle, the hotel continues to look for practical ways to reduce waste. Refillable guest-room amenities help limit the use of single-use plastic bottles.
Ko Green is an organic fertiliser produced by the hotel as part of its approach to converting suitable organic waste into a useful resource.
Used bottle caps are collected and donated to support their reuse in the production of prosthetic limbs.
